During the course ‘Crochet for beginners’ you will learn the basics and beyond of crochet. The course is developed for beginners, no knowledge of crochet is necessary.

You will learn the basic crochet techniques and will practise them. This way you will develop confidence your skills. Every session is set up as a mix of theoretical knowledge and 'hands on' crochet practice.

We will have a look the crochet terminology and abbreviations, basic pattern reading and  at simple chart reading.

**The course will cover:**
•	Basic stitches: You will learn how to make a chain, double crochet, half treble, treble, double treble and slip stitch
•	Colour changes, 
•	Working straight and in the round,
•	Increases and decreases.

The course has in general a basic/ static structure. But ... everything can be changed according to the wishes of the group.

Learn to crochet in Eltham during a fun and affordable group course. In 4 weeks you will learn the basics and will be able to create your own projects.

Bring out the crochet artisan in you and learn how to crochet! The most adaptable way to do this is signing up for private crochet tuition, which is currently offered online. 

The first private crochet session will take 1 hour. The private crochet tuition will take place online, using Zoom. After a short intake and introduction, we will have a look at what you want to learn and how many sessions might be needed/ are possible. You will also receive a short health and safety briefing and we will jump right into practicing ... What we will cover, depends on your experience and knowledge (for instance, do you already knit or did you try out crochet by yourself already).

The crochet sessions are suitable for beginners or advanced crocheters, for adults and kids. From my experience children aged 7 and above can learn how to crochet this way, if they are accompanied by a parent.

Lovely hour spent with this crochet teacher.  Perfect pace.  Good to see a holistic approach to crochet, tips on lighting, equipment, even some good Zoom tips.  I learnt way more than I have learnt via YouTube etc before.  Inspiring to think that I could work my way up to crocheting a fossil picture.  If you are thinking of booking this class it is worth the extra money for the 1-2-1 to go at your pace.

I booked a session with Sylvia to get back into crocheting. I already know a few basis techniques but needed a refresher as it has  been some time since I picked up a crochet needle and I needed help with a couple  of projects. 2018:  Sylvia joined up with Viv to launch SEYA London. As two friends we soon realized we could pool our knowledge and share our skills with others. Sylvia is the crocheter and Viv is the felter. Together we have formed SEYA The South East Yarn Academy (London). Like the name? We are wool lovers although we also work in other forms of textile too. 

We see our crafts as art forms and find that creating with textile gives us so much joy which we love to share.
