We really enjoyed our afternoon of calligraphy Christmas cards. The samples provided were inspiring and there were plenty of different pens and cards. I did find that the lighting in The Alchemist made focussing on the calligraphy hard on the eyes and another participant made the same comment (the lighting was bright so there wasn’t a problem seeing it was the quality of the light that was uncomfortable). It was a fun afternoon however we shan’t be embarking on a career in calligraphy 🤣

I attended the Christmas Card Calligraphy workshop and it was everything and more than I expected! So professionally done but such a cute and relaxed vibe. Rhian made everything so special with extra touches like chocolates on the table and the lovely set up!  I loved it so much I brought my own cards and pens to continue making my own, using the take away sheets which shows us exactly how to write the different letters. Would 100% recommend and will definitely book onto another one of the events in the future :)

Nice venue to hold the class in but found the class pretty underwhelming. I don’t believe in any of the advent when I booked that it was ‘cheats’ calligraphy, I imagined we get given a proper pen and learn how to do it but instead we wrote it out in fine tip pen and coloured in! Not what i expected. The lady running the course was very nice though.

Kind Calligraphy

KIND Calligraphy is run by its founder, me, Rhian. 
Starting from changing my handwriting, every week in school. Trying new ways to do letters, slanted, cursive. Any and every style I could think of. Following my love of all things creative, I ventured into college to complete the BTEC Art & Design course at South Downs College, where I aced in all it offered. 
Now you’ll find me either teaching workshops for KIND Calligraphy, or at a local venue, writing on all their walls and boards with my beloved Posca pens! 
I create bespoke gifts from pet portraits and murals, to gift tickets for customers to give instead of a boring confirmation email. 
Most days, you can book on to paint with me at most of the Paint Chill Co events, around Portsmouth and Southsea, where il teach you step-by-step painting, created and designed by their founder, and the occasional one painted by myself! There I’ll share all the techniques to painting with acrylics and letting yourself chill out for a moment. 
Overall, I enjoy getting others to take a moment out of busy life, to create something new, different and KIND to the mind.
