Mark is very knowledgeable and welcoming. He makes sure everyone understands the concepts he's teaching, and is happy to reiterate things where necessary.

This is a wonderful experience, my wife bought this course for me as a gift when I inherited some trees. The course is held on site at Ma-Ke Bonsai and is really relaxed and informal while Mark the Bonsai master is both friendly and knowledgeable, delving not only into looking after your trees, but also the history of Bonsai and the botanical workings of the various species. I would highly recommend the beginners course which gives a good basic understanding of the art of Bonsai.

I learned so much from the beginner courses and am now extremely confident in looking after my bonsai. The range of skills and knowledge that Mark possesses is fascinating and shows a clear passion for the art of bonsai, one he brings out in the students he teaches. The huge variety of bonsai at all stages of development and for all price ranges is also a great draw to the school.

I have approached the bonsai world around 3 years ago, since 2, I decided to follow a course because my interest was becoming bigger. After a couple of experiences I met Mark and I have to say that I found the perfect person. He driven me through the beginners an then to the advanced course with the simplicity and professionalism that just few people have. He's not just a lovely person, he's also a really prepared bonsai teacher. During the Mark course You find yourself surrounded by so many lovely bonsais, result of so many love and knowledge for the bonsai's world. Alessandro De Maria.

I recently wanted to understand bonsai techniques and more importantly I had purchased a few trees and wanted to make sure my investment was kept alive! Mark's classes have a lecture at the beginning where more formal tuition is given and then the latter half is a more informal 'hands on' session to understand what you do and how to do it. I would really recommend the beginners course and the other courses at the club. You will meet all sorts of interesting people who have the common desire to learn or improve their bonsai skills. Keep it up Mark, I really enjoy my days learning with Ma-Ke Bonsai. James Hopkins

One of the things I like the most about MaKe bonsai is the family atmosphere that can be enjoyed there. While sipping a nice coffee and indulging on the myriads of bonsais Mark has in his nursery, I learnt about the basic techniques every bonsai enthusiast need to master to be able to improve his/her collection. Mark is very friendly and his passion for bonsai makes him a great teacher as well as a fun person to chat with.
