Fabulous course with excellent individual support and guidance. Sylvie, the tutor, is very patient, flexible and always ready to provide help and advice when required. The studio has an abundance of materials and you will be given loads of inspiration to help you produce your work.
I really enjoyed the weekend with Alex exploring the indirect technique. She was very supportive and made sure what appeared difficult was actually a fun learning experience. Would definitely recommend!
First course in mosaic-indirect method, thoroughly enjoyable weekend, supportive tutor, very happy with my first attempt!
Excellent way to spend the weekend.
Alex is amazing. Highly recommend her course.
Brilliant class, great teaching and have definitely caught the mosaic making bug
Had a great day learning the basic skills. The teacher was clear, helpful, kind and friendly . She was able to spend teaching time with each student as well as addressing the group. I was pleased with what I made and would definitely return for another course . It was a good day .
Was such a brilliant day, the instructor was so enthusiastic and supportive. She was clearly so knowledgeable about mosaic and spent time with everyone advising and guiding on how to get the best outcome. The day is set up really well, so there's time to learn mosaic techniques, experiment, design and then still come out with a lovely piece to be proud off. I'm already looking up the next class!!
unlimited selection of materials and very well organized session.
Great lesson, and a very patient teacher!
Enjoyed immensely mosaic making with Alex. The pace, materials, tone, style and support, all together made this a wonderful experience for me and I produced a piece I am proud of.
This was a great weekend, with a wonderful tutor. I enjoyed it immensely. It was very good that everything we needed - materials and tools - was there to hand. And Alex is a tremendous asset - a skilled, knowledgeable and lovely person.
Gorgeous studio, and a lovely, supportive teacher. Recommend.
Had a fantastic day - a great start for a new hobby
Enjoyable class. We all managed to (just about) complete a small tile in the alloted time, though some of us left with them still a little damp. Rada our teacher was very helpful and encouraging. The small group of eight was about the right size. I have booked on another course in January
It was a really great day, and our tutor Catherine was really supportive of all of our ideas. She gave a good introduction to mosaic as we were all beginners, and she helped us with tips or stepping in to fix any issues. We had full access to lots of lovely broken china and many different types of tile. I am definitely considering signing up to a longer course now.
This was an excellent course and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think we were all of the same opinion though that it just wasn’t long enough! It was a shorter day (11-3.30) than your other day classes and if it had been 10 to 4 or so that would have made an enormous difference not only to the attendees but also I am sure to Rada as well. She was so conscientious and anxious to make sure that everyone had adequate knowledge and materials to finish the work at home if necessary but I know it meant she was working way over the scheduled time span. Please thank her! So the only reason I have given 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the time factor but am obviously keen to stress that it is no reflection on Rada!
Catherine is a great teacher. This is my second course with her
I can’t imagine a better set up for learning and developing the skills needed to make a successful mosaic project. You are guided and supported through the processes thanks to knowledgeable experts.
Can’t ask for more… Thank you Catherine and LS of M
Catherine patiently helped me work out how to turn my ideas into a practical mosaic project so now I'm really excited to begin
Wonderful inspirational teacher in an artistic atmosphere. My favourite time of the week.
I love this class and the new studio is spacious, bright and well equipped. Catherine is an exceptional teacher. She is patient, understanding and has a full understanding of technique while always respecting the student’s interpretation of design.
Fab start to our course. Really wished I had attended before I had started a few projects
Fantastic course, lots of inspiration, all materials available, great guidance to create your own oeuvre d'art, can absolutely recommend it!
Very nice course for entry level - only complaint is that the venue was hard to find for first timers otherwise all round happy.
Really enjoyed the one day course and the insight of the subject matter after the day. Really recommend
Brilliant day. Class was run at a very comfortable pace, suitable for complete beginners as well as people with a bit of experience. Rada explained the key theories and had lots of examples to show. She helped make our mosaics look their best when we got stuck but allowed us to create our own work. Will definitely be going back, thank you Rada
I did a LSoM weekend day course and had an absolutely lovely time. Our instructor Rada was very helpful and made sure that each of our small projects was progressing.
I would like to say, that I was unprepared with a project that I wanted to make, and therefore lingered around a bit in the first half of the day. That cause a little bit of urgency towards the end of the day. So come prepared, or use one of the available templates.
In the end it was an extremely fun day which flew past. Will definitely pursue mosaics in the future.
This place is a gem.
It's a very friendly and the classes have never disappointed . The teachers are very knowledgeable and I always earned something new.
The teachers also nudge you along if you're unsure and at the same time allow you the space to experiment and be authentic with your designs.
The range of materials is huge and it's like like an Aladdin's cave .
This is a great class in which to find and then polish your craft. Catherine is an excellent teacher, patient and always with suggestions how to deal with difficult shaping. The range of materials is exemplary. For me and the other students in the class, this provides an absolute haven on a Thursday night towards the end of the working week. I would thoroughly recommend if you are interested in music.
Wonderful inspirational place with excellent tuition for those who are starting out on this journey and inspiration for those as they continue their journey into the world of mosaics.
It is great been back at the school this week.
I did a 10 week course before which
I thoroughly enjoyed and now back again for another 10 weeks. I can’t recommend the school enough. It is a great place to learn. Specious with all the facilities and materials one needs and great teachers and staff.
The 5-day course was a great experience, very enjoyable in a friendly studio with an excellent instructor, Catherine, giving advice and encouragement throughout. I would thoroughly recommend this course if you have any inkling at all to learn about mosaic and will definitely do this again.
Relaxing class with great tuition and results. Highly recommend!
A lovely thoughtful day with the opportunity to get a nvolved with something creative.
Raya was very supportive.
100% recommendation. Catherine is both a clear and supportive tutor. Good at quickly understanding each students needs. A wonderfully inspiring space mixing masters and beginners in one large studio. Book now- you won’t regret it.
What an amazing day… something I have wanted to do for ages. Left inspired and with confidence to get going. Catherine is such a kind insightful teacher and her own work is clever and beautiful. Thank you thank you. P.s the cafe next door is also another wow ✨
Great day and I learned a lot!
Inspiring and accessible course. An opportunity to learn new techniques and skills from an expert. Good resources, help and support available. Scope for students to develop their own designs and ideas, and learn from each other. No experience needed.
An incredibly fun and rewarding activity to spend the day on! It was interesting to learn how to cut and assemble the mosaic tiles, and satisfying to take home your creation at the end of the day.
The teacher was competent and inspired to se things in new ways.
Friendly atmosphere..
Really enjoyed the course
Really enjoying the course. Excellent guidance from Catherine.
The whole experience was brilliant. The instructor (Radha) was very accommodating and went out of the way to help us feel engaged. At the start of the class we planned to leave half way as 6 hours was too much. But we couldn’t and wouldn’t budge from our seats till the very end. It was such a fulfilling day, at the end of which we had our individual works of art in our hands and promising hobby! We met some fun people too who were fellow budding mosaic artists.
I love this class. Our teacher Catherine encourages us to convert our ideas into beautiful pieces of creative art.
The friendly, informal atmosphere makes it easy to progress your mosaic-making, ceramic or other artistic project under the watchful eye of a tutor who offers brilliant advice on achieving striking and subtle effects. It’s good to chat to the other like-minded people alongside and pick up their tricks and tips, too.
Really enjoying my classes with Catherine. She is a very patient teacher and always on hand to give you a steer if you want/need one - but also gives you space to do your own thing. Highly recommended.
We were really looking forward to our course at the London School of Mosaic, which was the one day short course for beginners. They were very generous with giving us plenty of tiles and materials to make a small mosaic. There were lots of tools and different colour tiles available.
However I think there wasn't enough guidance or teaching for it to be suitable for beginners. All they asked us to prepare in advance was to find an image we wanted to recreate, and at the beginning of the day there was a demonstration of how to cut the tiles and a little advice on which tiles to use. However, after that we were left largely to our own devices, without guidance on how to best lay the tiles or how to develop the mosaic. There was no demonstration.
We weren't told at the beginning of the session how long to spend on each task or how long it would take to set, meaning that even though the course was 7 hours long people were running out of time and the mosaics didn't set in time for pouring on the grout. We had to pour on the grout while it was still unset, so the tiles moved and undid all our hard work. I had to leave soon after, and left with an unfinished mosaic without a border because I ran out of time. For the cost of the course I wasn't satisfied with the outcome.
Sometimes I would approach the teacher with something I was finding tricky, and the teacher would say 'you should have laid the tiles this way to avoid the problem you're in.' Though of course it was my first time, and she should have given us more guidance on how to avoid problems.
I think for the almost £100 cost of the course we should have received more guidance and a tutorial/demonstration at least. I left unhappy with what I made and wished I'd been taught the techniques before I started.
There were a lot of books about mosaic on the tables for inspiration, but there wasn't time to read them and teach ourselves the techniques. Plus the studio was cold, so it's best to wear thermals or a coat that you're comfortable working in if you decide to take the course.
An excellent, well equipped environment the tutor is knowledgeable and supportive I'm already planning my next project
Such a fun day! Thank you
My sister and I did a 2-day weekend introductory course learning the Indirect Method with Alex. We had a great time and really enjoyed making beautiful images using tiles. Our teacher was patient and lovely, it is very clear she has a great passion for the craft, and guided us effortlessly in making our own mosaics. The location is great and so is the studio, would highly recommend!
I absolutely loved spending the day learning from Katherine and the rest of the group. The day was so informative - I picked up so many new skills & loved the format of the session. It was also incredibly fun and such a nice creative space to try out new things & make a beautiful tile. Thank you so much!!
Fantastic course. Rada was excellent. I really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend. Also I am really pleased with how my mosaic turned out. It's a great community space
Brilliant class, brilliant teacher, brilliant studio!
Best decision I’ve made in a long time to study at the London school of Mosaic.
It’s so chilled and wonderful to be amongst such helpful students and staff. Genuinely cannot find fault :)
This class is absolutely amazing. I am learning new skills and the level of teaching is superb. You have to try it to believe it!
I had a great day and really loved the course. Catherine was a great tutor, clear, knowledgeable and encouraging throughout the day. The choice of materials to use was fantastic and the relaxed feel of the whole experience made it a wonderful day. I’ll be back with friends to do more. Many thanks.
Wonderful to be back at LSM - excellent teaching, super helpful staff and a welcoming studio to work in.
Highly recommend.
Very professional and helpful teacher,
Great course, well resourced and taught.
Inspirational teacher Catherine Parkinson encourages, instructs and make the class enjoyable while learning about mosaics. All techniques are taught and having been to Caterine's classes for about 10 years I am still learning and enjoying her courses.
I thoroughly enjoyed this first class. The teacher was attentive, professional and helpful and she was also clearly very talented and knowledgeable. She had time for everybody and went out of her way to make us feel relaxed and confident with our projects.
I really enjoyed it.
There were a lot of colours choices and good tools.
Only one criticism, it was really cold in the workshop.
Overall very nice experience!
A fantastic course. I'm so pleased with all that I learned, the encouraging way it was taught and my finished piece. It looks even better today, 24 hours later.
A very enjoyable course ran by experienced, considerate and very patient tutor Catherine Parkinson. Highly recommended.
It was such a nice experience. I could let my creative side run free. Very good teacher too. Will definitely join again
I had a brilliant day at LSoM. Rada was a knowledgeable teacher and was kind and supportive throughout the day. I learnt lots and would love to carry on creating unique pieces of art. Thank you.
Lovely calm relaxing day, great tuition and support for a not very arty person and a great tile to take home. Thank you
A wonderful course to learn mosaic making and have a play with creating portraits in mosaic. Excellent guidance throughout with plenty of room to express yourself.
I am taking the Various Techniques Mosaic course from Catherine Parkinson in Fall 2022. It is a terrific course, exposing you to a variety of mosaic techniques. You choose one of these techniques to develop a project with. Catherine is a very supportive and experienced teacher, she has encouraged me to do a project that is challenging but I am quite happy with the results!
LSoM is such a great environment to work in. Lots of inspirational work around to look at, students and tutors friendly and helpful, and an excellent variety of equipment and materials to use to create your ideas.
Then put Catherine into the mix ....................! She is a wonderful teacher, knowledgeable, encouraging and always able to spot just what it is that will help your project progress.
excellent class
teacher very helpful and good choice of materials.
Excellent teacher, patient, and very knowledgeable .
Wonderful teacher, passionate and patience, ready to answer to a million questions!
The course was great! A really fun way of getting to understand a bit about mosaics. Rada was very attentive and spent 1 to 1 time with each student, which was very nice.
This is a very nice class to learn and complete a small mosaic in a day. I totally enjoyed my time and found the teaching very inspirational - lots of useful tips and encouragement from the amazing teacher Rada. Very nice mix of people and relaxing (even with music) atmosphere.
An excellent introduction to mosaics, thank you!
Great day learnt a lot .
Great school with fantastic teachers
Excellent class with a wonderful inspirational teacher
A most enjoyable class run by a warm & helpfull teacher
She is always willing to help & wants us to enjoy the class
Loved the intro course to indirect method. Great support and information, I came away with a lot of ideas and knowledge, as well as a completed tile. It was a lot to do in two days and the teacher was very supportive about our speed and any help we needed to finish.
I am super excited about this class and cannot wait till next week to learn more about the portraits in mosaics! Everyone I met so far in the school is open, friendly and warm! The teacher offers very helpful practical advice and gentle guidance. The school feels homely, welcoming and accommodating! Thank you!
Catherine is a great teacher and always helpful, and encouraging. No wonder I keep coming back.
Had a great first class on the personal learning course. So many ideas to think about. Looking forward to getting stuck in over the next few weeks
I didn’t expect to enjoy the course as much as I did; it was well organised, well timed and well explained. Catherine- the teacher made sure everyone had her attention if needed; guided through the phases and different techniques. Thank you once again Catherine.
What a wonderful day! Rada is a great teacher and very supportive. The 7+ hours raced by - much to take in and think about technically and creatively inevitably as a taster (and I was surprised and delighted to finish with a first piece I’m very pleased with). We were busy throughout the day but at the same time, it was thoroughly relaxing. It’s definitely whetted my appetite for more - I can see how addictive mosaic work can be! Thank you Rada!
Very enjoyable day, and hopefully the beginning of a lifelong new hobby. Thanks Rada and thank you LSoM!
Wonderful workshop on Mosaic. Appropriately lifted the curtains on how mosaics are made and the labor that goes into them. Taught me something I'd like to continue given time!
An excellent class and introduction to mosaic taught by Pauline. My husband and I now have a better appreciation for this centuries-old art technique, which has inspired us to learn more!
Alex is such an amazing teacher....got to know the basics of mosaic making and it was super fun.
Really enjoyed the class. Our Excellent tutor created a good atmosphere among the learners while giving individual attention.
This course ‘indirect method’ could benefit from having, perhaps, an extra 2-3 hours of tuition time.
Thank you for a very enjoyable course.
I really liked the class, it was very helpful and interesting, time went so fast that day. Also, I was impressed by the teacher's professionalism. I highly recommend it to everyone who is interested in mosaics and arts. I am going to repeat the class in the future!
I attended a one week mosaic course which was fantastic. The teacher was really helpful and encouraged us to explore new ideas and techniques and the facilities are excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming and the cafe is excellent.
Really enjoyed the class. Slightly difficult to find. Very good introduction into hands on experience
I can´t imagine better option for myself how to spend a sathurday with time for myself. Our teacher was friendly, well prepared and carefull. She could give us enough attention according to the maximum of 8 people in the group. I can hardly recomand and I am sure that it wasn´t my last visit. Thank You for the organization, printed materials and the athmosphere.
Great class. Great teacher. Great fellow 'students'. Catherine is amazing as the tutor. She is generous with both her time and (in my case) her patience as well as being very supportive. A brilliant introduction into mosaics.
Absolutely love this class and the tutor is super knowledgeable and good at getting the best out of each student. I am a repeat customer and am always impressed with the variety and quality of work produced under Catherine’ s expert guidance
Great day - although there were moments when I was not sure whether my mosaic would come together it did! Rada (teacher) was patient, inspiring and supportive. Cafe is a real gem.
Absolutely loved it! Entertaining informative and ultimately rewarding. I would wholeheartedly recommend the experience to anyone who wants to try something creative and different.
I always enjoy my courses here with Katherine. I learn so much and the school is just amazing. The facilities, the dedicated space and staff have all been brilliant
It is so much more than I expected! Catherine is an amazing tutor. Can't wait for next Friday. So glad I enrolled with London school of mosaic.
A wonderful class with a teacher Catherine, who inspires you to create. Whatever level you are learning every week in an enjoyable environment with like-minded people. It is the highlight of my week.
For a first timer this week long course couldn’t have been bettered. Hugely supportive teacher (Catherine) made for an enjoyable, rewarding learning experience. Highly recommend.
A really great week. I learnt a lot and had time to develop some new work. Thanks !
I thoroughly enjoyed my one day mosaic course. The teacher was excellent and very helpful. A very friendly environment. Highly recommended.
I loved doing the mosaic course.
Excellent day, loved the mix of abilities on the course and and brilliant supportive tutor that aided realising my own design.
The one day beginners course I attended was very well organised and interesting. Very good facilities and just the right amount of tuition.?
A very informative and well-run class. Although I have some experience of making mosaics I wanted to learn from a professional how to use pottery and china to make a mosaic. I found Catherine's advice and experience helpful and I now feel more confident with this medium.
So enjoyable an activity everything else disappears. Just as feeding for the soul is getting to chat to all the interesting people who chose to do it too. The instruction is relaxed and happens when you need it, making the class suitable for any level. It’s a forgiving medium but also one with lots of opportunity for creativity. 👍
I am really enjoy my Portrait Mosiac course. I have learnt a lot from the instruction my teacher. The group is lovely and the attendees are very supportive. The learning at the school are flexible and kind in their approach. Thank you
I love the mosaic art, and this is a very good way to get started and get tips and advice on any project. Tutors are very helpful and knowledgeable.
Great course, lovely tutor, fabulous venue. Thank you!
Fantastic course, superb amenities, warm atmosphere and terrific teaching. Really great bunch of students too - highly recommend
I love this class. Students get to work on their own projects with the expertise and encouragement of our teacher Catherine Parkinson.
Excellent teaching and resources.
An excellent opportunity to begin or improve your mosaic making, with caring, tailored support and a brilliantly industrious and creative atmosphere all around you.
Loving this mosaic course I have another 11 weeks and don’t want it to end
Fantastic support, knowledge and inspiration by all of the tutors and students at London School of Mosaic
Rada and Joe and Jenny have been so wonderful to help me choose and create my design thank you
My group was very friendly and made me feel very welcome as the new person.
Catherine was brilliant too being very patient with me and explaining things in an easy to take in way - although I will probably need reminding.
You only have to see how many of Catherine's students return to her classes term after term, year after year to know how wonderful her courses are. I am a 'newbie' having attended for the first time in the autumn of 2021 but I am back in January 2022 and will be back for more too. We listing to Songs for Swinging Snippers as we shape our pieces of glass and ceramics ... the evenings speed by despite us all sitting there just snipping away. Book early everyone, if you don't you will be too late!!
Wonderful as ever. The calmest part of my week.
I thoroughly enjoyed my one day course on making a mosaic by the direct method. The tutor was fabulous, taught us lots and gave us great advice on our pieces. It was a great introduction to a wonderful craft and had encouraged me to do more. Great cafe next door too!
Great day! Loved the tutor she was excellent.
Highly recommend.
Fantastic day thank you
Lovely time with Alex a great informative tutor who demystified a lot of mosaic questions and queries - had a great day; where did the time go! Thank you. I will be back to do the two day course.
I really enjoyed this workshop. I learnt about some of the basic techniques for making mosaics, there were plenty of interesting materials to choose from, and the instructor (Catherine) was fantastic - offering helpful feedback and advice throughout. It's a really lovely and relaxing place to go, friendly staff who all seem really passionate about what they do (and the cafe next doors does great food too!). Would definitely recommend to others :)
I enjoy the course Mosaic indirect method very much. Alex is very knowledgeable and explains very well how to use the tools, cut the tiles , andamentos and the whole process of making the mosaic with this method. I strongly recommend it.
Lots and lots learned, and a really good way to spend a cold weekend: thank you Alex!
I would say 10 out of 10 if i could, whole experience was very cool. Alex is a great teacher, very nurturing and patient. I really responded to her clear teaching style. would highly recommend to anyone!
Very cool class! Alex was a great instructor and very helpful. Would definitely take again!
This was such a great day, really enjoyed it and would definitely come back! Thanks
I was an enjoyable course. I throughly enjoyed the creative process. Would definitely come back.
I really loved the course with Alex McHallam, great teacher and a great day. I would highly recommend!
Great fun, the time was filled from start to finish. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor who gave a lot of assistance and feedback. Plenty of choice of supplies to create a fanatastic small mosaic. Tea/coffee and biscuits to keep us going. Lovely cafe on site for lunch with delicious home made food and very reasonable price. I am really pleased with what I made and recommend you try too.
I love this class. Making mosaics is very mindful and Catherine brings out the creativity in her students
This class is the highlight of my week. I have learnt so much and the choice of materials is exceptional. The teaching is of a very high standard and the classes are still nice and small because of covid so it is a safe environment. I can not recommend it highly enough.
Excellent class, well run, well resourced and very interesting
I am so glad to have enrolled in this 13 week mosaic course. Every body is so welcoming and helpful.
It is great that we are encouraged to work on our own ideas and preferred methods of working are accepted.
Lovely space to work in. Plenty of materials, and a nice group of participants. Excellent teachers. Could not wish for more.
The best workshop set up for creating great art. The most patient, helpful and knowledgeable tutors. I highly recommend this school.
Inspirational!
Really great course that really sets you up to make your own mosaics afterwards at home. Alex was very knowledgeable and helpful.
I had a great time. Alex was so knowledgeable and helpful. She stayed extra time just to make sure we were all finished. I would definiely recommend it and I look forward to using this new skill in the future!
Alex a really good teacher
I support the request to be prepared with designs for the class as even simple designs take all day. Materials were plenty and varied to use. Back to Alex as she set a welcoming tone for the whole day. I certainly recommend this course to others
Meg
I had a horrible start to the full day Beginner's Course on Saturday 21st August because the instructions to the car park [I am a Blue Badge holder] were totally inadequate. I had been helped to reserve a place by Marvin in the office during the week but the instruction to collect the parking permit before class required me to find the address and a parking place to safely leave my car before doing so! The number of the School of Mosaic was very hard to see from the road and way beyond the entrance to the parking area. The office phone was not answered when I tried for help. Fortunately Alex my course tutor later picked up a call - she had supplied us with her number - and came out into the road to help me find the entrance car parking space and permit for display alongside my disabled badge. She was friendly, understanding and very generous considering she was also just beginning the course with the other participants [another of whom had also had similar problems].
The good news is that having got over my parking problems etc I had a very good day. The course was well organised and relaxed. Alex was very skilled at meeting the needs of a varied group and created a supportive atmosphere. Without seeming to pressure us she got us through the required stages providing help when required without fuss or patronising us. Her humour and chocolate digestive biscuit were great and we all left very satisfied and proud of our own and each other's achievements!
Thankyou
We had a great time, learned a lot and individuality was able to flourish! Thank you Alex.
Really enjoyed a busy but rewarding day. Guidance from the host was insightful and always seemed to be at just the right moment. Plenty of tools & tiles to choose from which made designing my first mosaic a joy.
Amazing class, amazing instructor!
Great teacher and airy space to work in which was cool on a boiling day. Alot to fit in the hours and a shame that the end was time tight but I really enjoyed it!
It was okay, I learned that I could draw the tile shape on the wood, but overall I had learned way more from online videos, and other online materials before. The atmosphere around the school was very nice. I feel the course was lacking instruction and technique teaching. I was hoping to get detailed explanation of use of tools, cutting or tiles laying technique, and comment or advice on the design choice (what's suitable, not suitable), but all of them were not really covered. We were only given a paper about ways to cut into different shapes, but I don't think the tutor actually covered the cutting technique other than just asking us to try it, I feel that we were effectively just given the space and materials to work on a piece that day with limited explanation and guidance. I thought it was a course, not an experience day. Perhaps if was intended that way, it should be advertised that way?
A really enjoyable course which was well structured and lovely to come away with a finished piece at the end of the day.
It would have been helpful to have had a supply of cutters (the same as used on the day) available to purchase from the school, or more precise details about makes and stockists so that I could confidently buy online the same equipment that we practised with.
Was a friendly warm and informative experience as my first class ! I only wish that I was accommodated with my late request on additional material to work upon !
A really interesting and productive day. Our tutor, Catherine, was great - lots of gentle help and constructive criticism and the studio is an inspiring place to be.
Professional tutor, very organised, very friendly and helpful. Very supportive to explore ideas. Materials offer a fantastic choice.
Learning the various ways of techniques at the London School of Mosaic is truly inspiring and enjoyable.
Exceptionally enjoyable - and productive.
This is my second "Various techniques mosaic course" ans i recommend this course for beginners as well for initiaites. The teacher, Katherine Parkinson, is very competent and attentive. A wide choice of materials and techniques are available too. This is "the place to be" to improve your mosaic skills !
Great day course on which I learned such a lot about the techniques. Good teacher, great cafe and I've signed up for a two day course now!
Great Class!! Paula is a real artist and know how to teach with lots of kindness. Thank le for everything x
We had such a lovely day at the one day mosaic course. Paola was really friendly encouraging and helpful and we are delighted with our finished products after the day. Thank you for a great time. We hope to come back again next year!
The workshop was excellent - well run, lots of information. The tutor, Paola, was both knowledgeable and helpful. I learned a lot, enjoyed the day and would recommend to others.
I have done many mosaic courses but have never had a teacher who was as skilled as the teacher on this course. She is excellent. The space is large and there are a lot of supplies and a library for ideas and its the perfect place to do mosaic. Its the highlight of my week.
The first class of Various Techniques Mosaic Course was very informative.
The teaching methods are clear and the materials are good quality and teaching to a high standard.
Its great to get stuck into a new hobby and meet people at the same time.
The library is good for any research and the LSoM a lively community be a part of.
A really good introduction to mosaics.
Excellent class, really enjoyed it. Very well set up for current circumstances and Paola was a superb teacher. Would highly recommend this class.
Really enjoyable class with inspirational tutor and like minded students. Highlight of my week.
Such a great day, the class was really well taught and paced for a group of newbies. Paula was a great tutor and helped us elevate our ideas to look as good in real life as they did in our minds! Highly recommended.
Fantastic course, thank you very much
Catherine is such an encouraging teacher, who always has a good suggestion as to which direction to take ones work.
Excellent course. Excellent teacher. Excellent venue.
Wonderful class with inspirational teacher. Looking forward to continuing with the classes when we are able.
I love going to this course. A highlight of my week.
I’ve attended only one term by now and I’m more than happy with everything from LSM. Very friendly place. Teacher, students and staff where great. I’m looking forward to restarting my classes as soon as we finish with this Corona viruses.
A brilliant course! Catherine is a great teacher and so knowledgable about mosaics. I love the way she pushes me out of my comfort zone. And I always learn something new in every session.
This course is excellent. The teacher is very encouraging and all the staff are helpful. There is plenty of material available and the students produce amazing work.
Excellent teaching and great to have everything supplied.
Excellent course, lots of help using various techniques and media.
As always the course was fantastic. Great venue and resources and the teacher Catherine manages to support, advise and challenge without imposing or being overwhelming. I would highly recommend any classes she teaches.
Lucy
The course was excellent. I had never done any mosaic work before but after this course I love it and would like to do more. The teacher was superb - friendly, helpful and encouraging. I’d come again in a flash.
Small, friendly group and knowledgable tutor who was able to bring out the best from each student whatever their previous experience. I was already familiar with the direct method so it was interesting to try indirect method. On balance I prefer direct but the tips and techniques I learned are useful for both and the mosaics I make at home have improved as a result of what I learned.
The teachers were very professional and patient. I det decided to make a portrait in mosaic from a photograph I had taken and the result was amazing all credit to the guiduidance of the tutor which made all the difference
The group working was very beneficial too and all staff welcoming and friendly. The venue with display of amazing mosaics makes it very conducive to learning and being creative

Tutor was passionate and enabled all students to complete their project. Plenty of equipment and choice of materials. My experience certainly made me want to go back for more! I had a really enjoyable day, a very socialable group with lots if giggles as well as the hard work concentrating! In n our break I chatted to students on another class and If I lived in London I would certainly have looked into doing a diploma. The school has a great ethos, very engaged with local community and happy that by attending a course with them it helps support this work.
