A humble start in Greenwich

Greenwich Pantry is a London cooking school offering a range of cooking skills; from knife skills to bread making. Participants can join a group class with fellow foodies and be inspired to make amazing food all year round. Life began as a pop up shop on Trafalgar Road in Greenwich SE10 with a love for good food and Greenwich Pantry has stayed true to its ethos focusing on a portfolio of classes that promote healthy eating and ‘free-from’ foods. In recent years, it has branched out and now also offers an online shop where customers can buy special hampers to take home after - I mean how much more convincing do you need?

The goal of Greenwich Pantry is to help people cook and eat well, no matter your age!. As a living wage business, they care about their staff and work super hard to put some fun into shopping, cooking and connecting with food.

I really enjoyed my class. The people from Greenwich Pantry were so friendly and welcoming. The class was really fun and well organised too. I would definitely do one of their classes again.

The people delivering the class were absolutely lovely! However it did feel a bit overpriced for the content. The loaf didn't end up as well as I was expecting it, which is reasonable given it is a course over ~4 hours and sourdough baking takes a day. With few things to improve (sourdough starter used should have been more lively, if the teachers had prepared already some dough fermenting in the menatime to show us how it looks at different intervals/when ready, and if more resources were given like tips/science begind it etc) it would definitely be a great course. Room for improvement but thank you for the experience!

This was a fun packed cooking experience with Antonio. He was a lively and entertaining chef who whizzed us through making soup, pasta, meatballs, tomato sauce and a lovely peach tiramisu. It would have been helpful to be told to bring plenty of containers to take our food home in as we made such a lot. Overall a really fun way to spend a morning.

I really enjoyed the class, the recipes were easy to follow and the cookies and cake delicious. Only thing I would do differently is provide the recipes on the night so that notes can be made / written on the recipe when the baker is talking about alternative ingredients or measurements based on what you like.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience. The facility was excellent. The instructor was adept at conveying tips and tricks for making sushi which cookbooks haven't been able to. We also had plenty of our own creations to taste and spare to take away. Thanks!

What a great class! Theresa was friendly, warm and welcoming and explained every step to us. While we prepared the food, she walked around and checked that everyone was happy and answered any questions we had. Looking forward to the next class :)
