Erika is a professionally trained porcelain painter. After her qualification course and China painter Diploma, she completed 5 years experience in Herend Porcelain Manufacture, hand painting fine porcelain tableware.

After moving to the UK, she spent 8 years as a studio assistant working with leading ceramic artists, Kate Malone (judge of Pottery Throwdown on BBC) Sue Binns and Valeria Nascimento.

Erika was commissioned by Hampton Court Palace to hand paint the recreation of King George I. chocolate cups, originally made by Meissen Porcelain Manufacture. As part of the recently discovered Chocolate Kitchen, the pieces are on permanent display in the Palace.

Erika's current work is making her own range of white Bone China and black porcelain tableware, hand painted with floral motives. Using traditionally techniques and skills , creating modern designs, emphasizing the contrast between the perfection of detailed hand painting and the imperfection of hand made ceramics.

Erika was recently selected as one of 13 finalist by Liberty's Open Call, out of 9.5 k entries.

Erika is a passionate and talented teacher who enjoys sharing her knowledge of professional hand painting and teaching the technique to create beautiful designs.

Erika was wonderful, I had a great time and learned a lot from here. Time just flew away. I made some very nice things which she then ovened for me. She’s definitely an artist and good at explaining her work too. Very recommend!

I really enjoyed Erika's workshop and also to see an artist studio. I was shown how to mix pigments with a mixing medium and to handle the brush, which was quite tricky but Erika was very attentive and helped me when necessary. I practised on a wide plate and painted a mug that I wanted to take home. Erika was very prompt with her email communication and I picked up a mug I painted about 2 weeks after my workshop. She was a very skilled artist and a nice teacher!
