Erika is a professionally trained porcelain painter. After her qualification course and China painter Diploma, she completed 5 years experience in Herend Porcelain Manufacture, hand painting fine porcelain tableware.

After moving to the UK, she spent 8 years as a studio assistant working with leading ceramic artists, Kate Malone (judge of Pottery Throwdown on BBC) Sue Binns and Valeria Nascimento.

Erika was commissioned by Hampton Court Palace to hand paint the recreation of King George I. chocolate cups, originally made by Meissen Porcelain Manufacture. As part of the recently discovered Chocolate Kitchen, the pieces are on permanent display in the Palace.

Erika's current work is making her own range of white Bone China and black porcelain tableware, hand painted with floral motives. Using traditionally techniques and skills , creating modern designs, emphasizing the contrast between the perfection of detailed hand painting and the imperfection of hand made ceramics.

Erika was recently selected as one of 13 finalist by Liberty's Open Call, out of 9.5 k entries.

Erika is a passionate and talented teacher who enjoys sharing her knowledge of professional hand painting and teaching the technique to create beautiful designs.

Erika is the loveliest! She was very patient during the class and listened very attentively to what I would like to learn and achieve from her class. She is also very responsive to before and after class texts which is very helpful for finding the way to her studio and collecting your finished piece

Erika is one of the loveliest people I’ve ever met! Her warmth and enthusiasm shines through, making the classes she teaches an absolutely wonderful experience. I took for granted the amount of skill and talent one needs in her profession, it’s no simple accomplishment. Having Erika show me her pieces and taking me through the steps of painting my own plate made me appreciate how much depth there is to such an art. Highly recommend her class, not only do you leave the class with a porcelain plate handmade by her and painted by you, you also get a relaxing, happy evening that serves as a brilliant escape from life’s chaos.

Erika is a super talented porcelain expert and was incredibly patient with us while we made several pieces of jewellery from freshly rolled out material. Anyone who has done any metal clay will be familiar with the principles but porcelain is much easier to tidy up , which was lovely. Erika will be firing our pieces (which takes a whopping 24 hours) and adding the findings, and I can't wait to see the finished results.

The workshop was amazing and it's great that you get to make so many pieces of jewellery! I would maybe say the teacher could have slightly more patience with people trying to get through the different steps in time and if they need to ask extra questions. Overall woild highly recommend and the teacher was lovely.

I really enjoyed Erika's workshop and also to see an artist studio. I was shown how to mix pigments with a mixing medium and to handle the brush, which was quite tricky but Erika was very attentive and helped me when necessary. I practised on a wide plate and painted a mug that I wanted to take home. Erika was very prompt with her email communication and I picked up a mug I painted about 2 weeks after my workshop. She was a very skilled artist and a nice teacher!

Had a great time learning a unique skill with Erika who is a kind, patient and enthusiastic teacher with plenty of experience in this discipline. She set everything up nicely for me and made me feel at ease and encouraged. Highly recommend this course to someone who wants to broaden their artistic skills and there's the added bonus that you come away with your own hand painted item.

I have known Erika for a couple of years now and I am a big fan of her work, so I was very excited when she announced the workshop. Erika is very patient, friendly and informative. I am a total newbie when it comes to ceramics and she answered all of my questions in detail. I absolutely recommend Erika Albrecht Ceramics's classes to anyone who is serious about learning something new in ceramics, but even to people who occasionally just want to spend a quiet night away from their computers and mobile phones, in a nice atmosphere doing something creative and different. This experience was a true blessing for me personally.

Thanks Erica, it was wonderful experience. Special thanks to reschedule my class when I could not reach the first one. Learnt some good skills. Would have been nicer if we could see how the clay is burnt to get the final ones

The porcelain jewellery workshop was great fun. I enjoyed making the various shapes for earrings and pendants. It was a delicate procedure but Erika was happy to help and advise. I was amazed at how the powder colour transforms into the most beautiful gloss finish after firing. The finished products are beautiful.

Super fun class, Erika is really nice and welcoming and highly skilled. Also the studio space is great, surrounded by all sorts of beautiful pieces either in process or finished. I found the combo of jewelry with porcelin and glazing very original and made some beautiful one of a kind pieces to take home and wear (might gift some to friends/fam). Would recommend :)
