Allan Storer is a practising artist and art educator. He has devoted seven years studying the theory and practice of modern art culminating in post graduate research at the Chelsea College of Art and Design. Allan has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and also a member of the Federation of British Artists and Hesketh Hubberd Drawing Society, Mall Galleries, London. His work is in public and private collections including the homes of Royals, celebrities, politicians and show homes in major developments and has also been used for corporate logos, published in magazines and on recording labels.
A qualified teacher and tutor Allan has a background in the psycho dynamic principles involved in the process of Art and education and has worked in both the fields of education and therapy. Allan's teaching style is person centred, relaxed and humorous. He believes in clarity, renforcing the basics and the achievable goal of developing your own style. He has useful advice for learners. "With a sound knowledge of the basics there are no mysteries and no mistakes", he says," painting is a progressive learning curve, every problem just part of the pathway to self development and your own style." Allan teaches small groups of three to four in his London studio and larger groups in a well known art retailers in Kingston. An accomplished lecturer, Allan is also available to give talks on Surrealism to groups and societies.
