Alanbari’s art classes at The Saatchi Gallery are different to what is offered elsewhere because they approach painting with a focus on self development. At the heart of the workshops is the student, their discovering and expressing what is important to them, through a playful and experimental approach using acrylic paint and collage. What is important is to develop one’s own artistic style and language in order to create art works that are personal and meaningful.

Alanbari first taught at the Saatchi Gallery in 2014 and has since curated ‘The In Between’ exhibition there. She is interested challenging the stereotyping of people and places and most of her work addresses this. She believes in the power of art to express the ‘unsayable’ and in its power to move, heal and stimulate people across cultures.

Alanbari is of Iraqi and French upbringing and has been a proud Londoner for the past fourteen years. She is a qualified architect and exhibition curator, with Masters degrees from Chelsea College of Art, The London School of Economics and The Ecole Speciale d’Architecture Paris. Further information on this painting course can be obtained by contacting her via the ‘Contact Host’ button on the website page.

One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had, reaching to the depth of my senses and instincts to experiment something new. Very powerful and self-rewarding. I didn’t feel awkward about being a complete novice to this form of art. I totally recommend it.

As a participant of previous art events by Asmaa Alanbari, I cannot but highly recommend her. She’s very talented and excels in teaching Art as a passion and a way to better connect with oneself. Her class is an enjoyable and rich experience.

I Had the most beautiful art experience two years ago, when I first joined Alanbari ‘s self développement class at the Saatchi Gallery. I never thought that I would actually be able to creat something just by reflecting my feelings on a piece of paper! Asma Alanbari is a wonderful artist and person! Her passion for art guided me and the whole groupe through this very personal experience in a very smooth way! The results were absolutely surprising! I loved my sessions with her.
