I took this class with my mum. The tutor was very friendly, kind, helpful and hands-on, and we had a wonderful afternoon. We each made four prints, but the first was a tester. The three prints I have are absolutely lovely, and just what I wanted! We brought our own flowers and leaves, but she also provided lots of things to try, and she helped us make decisions about which items to use. 

I would have liked a bit more info about the history and use of cyanotype, and I also think the class should have been half an hour longer to give us a bit more time to make one or two more prints. Bear in mind that the prints are quite small - about A5, I think. I would recommend bringing a cardboard-backed envelope to carry them home.

I had a lovely few hours trying out cyanotype printing for the first time. Emma explained it all so that I feel as though I can do it on my own now. 

Create your own cyanotype print in the style of Anna Atkins, who is considered to be a pioneering female photographer.

You will learn how to make a sun print, otherwise known as a cyanotype - this type of printing is unique in that it is a form of photography that does not require a camera or an expensive darkroom. 

Engineers used the process well into the 20th century as a simple and low-cost process to produce copies of drawings, referred to as blueprints. 

Guided by your teacher, Emma, you will be making one fabric print to fit in a 23cm x 23cm embroidery hoop. Emma will provide the fabric and hoop. The fabric will either be cotton or cotton canvas. 

You will also do a few practice paper prints for you to take home with you.

You will be making x 4 -6 A6 size cards (or as many as you can make in 1.5 hours!): envelope and craft materials included.

- Bottle of ‘Part B’ Ferric Ammonium Citrate powder – 21.5g

Come and create your own seasonal wreath from scratch. Starting with a wicker/vine base, you’ll add lots of foliage, berries and an abundance of natural decorations all sourced from the local Twickenham area!

All materials (I like to try and avoid using the environmentally unfriendly ones) are included in the workshop and you are welcome to bring your own adornments to add and personalise your design.

Suitable for all ability levels and ages. The workshop takes place in my she-shed in Twickenham, south west London every Saturday 18 November-23 December (excluding 9 December). Make your own lumen print using UV light and botanicals. This is a camera less alternative way to make prints without using a darkroom and expensive camera equipment. I have an array of dried botanicals for you to use but feel free to bring any flat, translucent objects (pressed flowers or leaves, feathers, interesting patterns, etc.) to make your prints!

We will make x2 A4 prints during the class. Lumens can fade over time so we will scan them in so you can make multiple prints from them whenever you like.
