3 hour workshop

Beginner

What happens in this class?

Spend a fun evening making your own espadrille shoes, in a fabric of your choice. You’ll walk away with one completed shoe, with all the knowledge and skills to finish the second one (and many more pairs!) at home. Imagine all the fabrics you could use.

During this three hour workshop, you’ll master the following skills:

  • Adjusting a pattern for fit
  • Stitching corners and curved seams on a sewing machine
  • Pinning the upper to the sole
  • Attaching ankle ties (optional)
  • Hand-stitching using blanket stitch
Things to remember

Please bring a fat quarter of fabric (approximately 50cm x 50cm). Light to medium weight plain or printed cotton or linen work best. There is also the option to buy Suzie London printed fabric fat quarters for £8 each on the night. These designs include Disco Pineapple, Sparkly Cactus and…

Loved this class and have a fab pair of espadrilles to show for it. Suzie is lovely and I got to use one of her gorgeous prints.

The class was so lovely and inspiring! Suzie, as a teacher, is very patient, calm and super friendly. She put everyone at ease and made sure everyone was happy. At the end of the class, we came away with everything we needed to finish off our shoes! Would definitely recommend. Already made a few people jealous with my new shoes and can't wait to make the next pair! (& to attend another class with Suzie!)

Highly recommend giving this class a try, even if you are a novice like myself. Suzie has a great teaching style - very calm and explains things in simple terms. The class size of 5 was perfect and it was such a thrill to take home something I made. Please go and make espadrilles with Suzie, you will have a fun session and take home a pair of shoes.
