In this workshop, Paul will guide you through a project from start to finish. This will include concept and idea development to design, iteration and publish.
At the end of this workshop you be fully equipped with a toolset and the knowledge to:
- Create an immersive experience
- Setup laptops & projectors
- Setup light & camera
- Produce real-time motion graphics & dynamic visuals
- Projection map
- Create a customised light show for your experience
- Add a soundtrack to your experience
- Photograph and document your experience
- Produce digital assets

About your host, Paul Mortimore
Paul is an interdisciplinary artist, designer and RCA graduate.
He specialises in audiovisual, neon & lighting design, immersive installation & experiences.
A highly skilled digital native fast visual thinker, he has over 20 years experience in the creative industries.
His background is in graphic design where he started out cut and pasting rock 'n' roll posters in Colorado USA in 1995.
Since then he has worked with brands and agencies including Burberry, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBC, Red Bull, Mixmag, Secretsundaze, Ogilvy, Sky, and Razorfish.
Paul's expertise is in future storytelling in the digital era. By harnessing new digital technologies and media he specialises in creating immersive experiences both on and offline.
He is an accomplished storyteller creating transmedia story worlds and environments employing innovative forms of storytelling and narrative experience all to engage audiences in new ways.
In 2019 Paul graduated from the Royal College of Art with a masters degree in Digital Direction. Ranked 1 for Art & Design in the world he passed with excellence and was featured in the RCA year in review next to David Hockney.
In addition, Paul is also a visiting practitioner at UAL London College of Communication where he teaches Digital Storytelling at masters level.
Paul also speaks at events such as Media Production Show at London Olympia and international festivals including Beat Marrakesh and Envision Costa Rica.
In this class, you will learn how to create an immersive experience and produce digital content with projection mapping and practical effects. You will also learn how to produce content for your Instagram, websites, and TikTok.
This is a fast-track class for those who want to learn about immersive experiences the production techniques involved.
All equipment will be supplied. You are encouraged to bring your own laptop, smartphone camera, and a notepad and pen.
