Sofia was initially drawn to yoga whilst studying psychology at university and quickly fell in love with the sense of peace and focus it brought to her daily life.
After graduating Sofia felt moved to travel and explore and so in 2015, she set off for a two year trip of self-study around the Americas. On this journey, she settled in Colombia for 6 months, working and living at a yoga ashram (community/ school). It was here that her practice became more regular and the word 'yoga' began to take on new meaning; as a way to live with discipline, love and curiosity.
Whilst living at the ashram she was encouraged to start teaching and share her passion for yoga and so after returning home to London she decided to travel to India to study. In March 2017 she completed the 200-hour Hatha yoga teacher training at Rishikesh Yog Peeth, with teachers Vijeth Kumar, Roshan Singh, Deepa Lakhyani and Dr Amaravathi, under the Krishnamacharya lineage,
Since qualifying she has continued her studies with the Special Yoga Foundation, completing the foundation qualification in teaching yoga for children with special needs and with Yogabeez, completing the foundation and advanced training for children and teens yoga.
Sofia is a registered and certified teacher with Yoga Alliance.
