Roli Ross was born on the Holloway Road on the middle day of spring, the second son of a second son.
After a short carpentry and joinery course he went on to take a furniture craft course. On both courses he was more interested in carving detail into the pieces he created rather than the construction of them. This led him on to the City and Guilds of London Art School's 3 year Diploma in Ornamental and Historical Woodcarving.
Since 2005 he has taught woodcarving at adult education colleges and from his studio in Greenwich and has been accepting commissions for individuals and churches. He is now putting together 'Roliometries' (a series of woodcarvings inspired by natural forms and geometry).
