All four of Daisy's grandparents lived in Sudan and three of them were born there. Like most of the descendants of this unique community, she grew up immersed in the culture, food and stories of a lifestyle so far removed from her own and yet one felt so close it was almost tangible.
Two years ago she decided it would be a great shame if these memories weren't preserved for future generations and so she set about documenting them, founding Tales of Jewish Sudan.
Sudan was a melting pot for Middle Eastern Jewry, meaning the food that came out of this small community is a unique blend of Middle Eastern tastes, smells and delights.
Daisy would love to share the food of her ancestors with you!
