Great teacher, so friendly, approachable and encouraging. Fantastic idea to learn Spanish whilst cooking Tapas. My 11 year old son had 4 lessons and had enough confidence to do a speech in Spanish at his aunts wedding in Spain. We will certainly have more lessons when we can find some time. I recommend it to anyone interested in learning the language. Venue is basic but easy to find and has all it needs.
David is now a regular at The American School in London. He comes once a year to help us improve the work done in the classroom after our students have completed a unit on Food in Spanish. He brings not only his great energy and fantastic teacher expertise, but also everything needed for the hands-on workshop, from food to utensils. By the end of each workshop, our students will have learned how to prepare two tapas, which they also eat, along with a dessert. They will also have reviewed vocabulary related to food, and have practiced how to order food at a restaurant in Spanish.
I attended the molecular gastronomy work shop last night, and it exceeded my expectations completely! David was super helpful and informative. If your an enthusiast like myself, David provided practical information and variations on what you learn in class. I highly recommend this class for anyone interested in upcoming their cooking game with modern techniques and also the food was delicious too! Win win!
While the cooking techniques taught by David covered a range of foundational molecular gastronomy techniques, and has armed me with the knowledge and knowhow to start experimenting on my own, a few of the recipes created could be iterate upon. David was enthusiastic, and his energy permeated the group and would recommend the class, as it gives you the essential first step to creating culinary experiences.
