Did you know?

Gin is spirit alcohol that’s flavored with juniper berries. It was first made by the Dutch. They named junever, their word for juniper. The French changed it to genievre. In turn, the English changed it first to geneva” and then shortened it to gin.


In this class

In this week-long evening course you will complete the WSET Level 2 Spirits qualification, in the historic Pickering Cellar. Beginning at 6 pm on five evenings you will have the privilege of being accompanied by highly qualified and entertaining coaches in a concentrated and highly informative course. You will taste a variety of spirits, accompanied by artisan cheeses, fruit and nibbles throughout each session. The final examination – a one-hour, 50-question paper – will be held on Monday 17th of July at 6pm, followed by a celebratory cocktail. This might be the most fun exam you will ever sit.

The WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits is a comprehensive qualification for those who want to learn more on the foundation of the world of spirits. No previous knowledge required, just a thirst for spirits and an open mind. The course will supply you with a focused and in-depth knowledge of the production and styles of all the major spirits types.

The cost covers the WSET examination fees, WSET course materials, WSET accredited tuition, use of Berry Bros. & Rudd’s equipment and tasting samples. Course materials will be sent to you in advance after registration, allowing all you keen spirit aficionados to prepare adequately.
