This Christmas themed lino-printing workshop will take you through the process of printing your own design onto paper and fabric. All levels welcome at this fun, easy to learn, creative course.
Famous for his work with Radiohead in the 1990s, Stanley Donwood is well known for his graphic landscape linocuts. His sleeve cover for ‘Amok’ was printed on a huge piece of lino measuring 18 foot long. His quasi-medieval style, printed only in black and white, are great examples of how dramatic linocut prints can be.
You will be advised on how to draw or choose your own design and then taught how to carve it into lino for maximum effect. This is a great craft for everyone, from beginners to more expert lino block printers. You will print your design onto a Christmas stocking and two Christmas cards.
This is a very satisfying, therapeutic craft - who knew carving into small pieces of flooring would feel so good?
You’ll get to keep the lino block you have made along with the stocking and cards. You can print from the block as many times as you like, but you will not want to stop carving more designs once you have learnt this printing method.
Sign yourself up for Tea & Craft’s Christmas lino block printing class if you want to get away from the usual Christmas glitter and cotton wool, to make gifts with a modern twist.
Laura is a textile printer and college lecturer. She will be on hand to teach you all the traditional lino cutting techniques and give you expert advice on creating an effective print.
Spaces are limited as this is a one off workshop, so block out your diary (see what we did there) for this fantastic course. Stay ahead of the Christmas game and book in today.
