The Bezalel Ethical Beauty workshop is a 2 hour class + Q&A that will teach you how to make your own beauty treatments at home, and get you started learning about natural beauty solutions and sustainable living.  

In the class you will learn how to make a body scrub, lip balm, moisturiser, face mask and hair oil, perfect Winter essentials. You’ll be guided through each recipe, combining the different ingredients and decanting them into jars to take home. Each person will go home with jars of the beauty treatments they’ve made and their own recipe pack.

The workshop will be part of our “Embracing Winter”weekend of events, and will explore the theme by focusing on how we can care for both ourselves and the planet. We’ll be discussing simple, practical things we can do to lessen our environmental impact, as well as learning how to integrate them into your everyday life.

The workshop will be taught by Francesca Willow, author of the Ethical Unicorn (www.ethicalunicorn.com) an ethical beauty and fashion blog. Francesca works with brands from around the world to promote ethical and sustainable living, and shares simple and practical advice on how to make the world a better place to live.

Bezalel Workshops was set up in 2015 by Rebecca Callaghan and Christabel Balfour.  Our goal is to create space for makers to share their skills with the people who want to learn from them, and to encourage people to take time to learn together and work with their hands. 

We've run monthly workshops in a variety of different venues around London, and we now host weekend events, each curated around a different theme. 

Each theme is carefully chosen by us and the creatives we work with to reflect an aspect of creativity that particularly interests or challenges us. Taking each theme as a starting point, we examine what it looks like to integrate creative expression into our every day lives. 

Our next event is "Embracing Winter", taking place over 2 days in November. With this event, we're asking ourselves- what if we were to embrace our winter seasons, with their challenges, tensions and disappointments? How can we persevere through failure or overcome practical obstacles? Do we allow the physical limitations of our material or craft to discourage us, or do we allow them to inspire our creativity?

Everyone will get an initial consultation form prior to the workshop and their own personal online board set up for them as part of the package. We offer both Cold Process Soap Making or Melt and Pour Soap Making.
Cold Process Soap Making - This is proper soap making and Involves using oils and a caustic soda solution to make soap with the traditional cold process method - but don´t worry, you will be in expert hands, You'll be guided by the talented soap and candle making expert and award-winning founder of Old Bexley Soap & Candle Co., Paula. She will share all her best tips and tricks for blending, scenting and colouring your natural soap.

There’s nothing more relaxing than discovering something new, working with your hands and bonding in convivial company. You will learn a new skill, experiment with creating you own scents and blends, and will leave with all the soaps you make to take home or gift to their friends and family.

All the soap making supplies are provided for you and brought right to your venue. This includes high vegetable oils and butters and essential oils which you will use to create a signature scent. Most beginner level melt and pour soap workshops merely cover colouring and scenting of soap bases. At Go Create we’ve created an extreme version: to push melt and pour to its limits. We’ll cover melt and pour from all angles to ensure you have a good understanding of soap making basics and how to exploit melt and pour to its potential.
