Simon and Hannah were wonderful hosts! We learned not only how to make the dumplings, but a lot about the history of Chinese cooking and what ingredients and styles are preferred in which regions. The dumplings (and wontons!) were super fun to make! They showed us how to "roll" them up and then how to "seal" them, giving tips on our technique as we went along. We then cooked and ate many of the dumplings and wontons, and then they gave us little trays to take the rest home to cook there. The following day, much to my surprise (I don't have a good cooking track record haha), I was able to cook the remaining dumplings we'd made in class. I was so happy, it was a great dinner. Class was intimate (just me and my friend) and space was small (at the back to the shop) but more than enough for us, had everything you could possibly need. Also, very convenient to be able to buy the frozen pastry wrappers to take home right there in the shop. I'll be trying to copy the whole process, beginning to end, soon. Thanks Hannah and Simon!

It was good fun to get hands on the flour, the mince and the pastry. First time to make though always order from takeaways. They make very different fillings with pork mince, shiitake and water chestnuts. Never had it any where else. Very best taste.

It was really fun and easy to learn the method! it is within the store so quite small but it made it feel more authentic. We learnt the technique and replicated at home and it went well!

Oriental Food is a small shop selling cooking ingredients mainly focused on Chinese, Japanese and Korean. The shop is not big enough to be a one-stop shopping destination. Therefore the owner couple choose the food they like to introduce to local community. For a while, the couple found out some cooking books misunderstand or not clear explained lots ingredients. It made customers confused. The couple started to cook dishes and sell in the shop. All ingredients are used from their shop. All dishes are followed authentic tastes.
