What happens in this class?

You will be guided through a variety of higher skill dishes to help you choose and make suitable dishes for your practical assessments. We will also look at preparation, timekeeping and dovetailing, to give you confidence when planning for assessments. There may also be opportunities to look at ' how to make the most of things not going to plan'.

Dishes made will include:

fish and chips (lattice and knife skills, batter, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise and tartar sauce)

Savoury and sweet scones, with home made butter and jam

Decorative filled pasta

Things to remember

Students can be left for the day or parents can stay and watch or join in the class. If children have additional needs, we encourage parents (or support staff) to work alongside them if needed. As social distancing restrictions lift, we will group students together on workbenches, with a maximum…
