    Meatlovers, head on down to Wandsworth, South West London, for an afternoon of high quality meat handling, knife skills and butchery, where you'll learn to treat your meat with the respect it deserves.

    If you've got a keen interest for butchery minus the experience, with a craving for fantastic cooking tips and recipes - get ready to 'meat' your maker! Obby's got the class for you!

    Your butcher master, David Redman, is a meat specialist from Dovecote Park - the sole supplier of beef to Waitrose. He'll teach you all you need to know to get you started with butchery at home.

    This will be a small class, ensuring everyone gets time to ask questions and perfect their technique. The afternoon starts with a demonstration, taking you through all the meaty fun, then before you know it, you'll be getting stuck in, eventually butchering your cuts to take home with you. As well as butchering the meat you'll be shown how to stuff and tie a leg of lamb.

    Meats you'll be leaving with for that following day Sunday roast or to pack the freezer with:

    • blade and flat Iron steak from the shoulder
    • half an ox tail
    • leg of lamb - boning and stuffing
    • french trim 3 bone rack of lamb

    Not only is butchery a fun and fine skill to acquire, David will be feeding you great recipe ideas for the meat. You'll also learn the best and most delicious ways to cook them, giving you that confidence boost when the in-laws are round for that high-pressure Sunday roast.

Infamously, Diana taught at The Grange Cookery School in Somerset for 7 years before starting The Avenue, where she has been ever since.

    Diana is supported by her son Richard and daughter Sophie.

    The food at The Avenue can be considered classic chic but full of fun twists and turns (ranging from macaroon masterclasses to gluten free baking to simple supper classes). All the classes are taught in the school's beautiful kitchen facilities in a relaxed environment.
