If you are experienced dancer or just a beginner and you are looking to polish your dance technique you can now book private class with Sarasvati Dance. During this time you will be able to focus completely on the areas that you want to perfect as well as explore dance moves that add the extra factor into your choreography. Along with private classes Sarasvati also offers veil, poi veil, sword, fan veils and stick workshops so if you feel that you would like to learn anything specific!

This course is suitable for students with a little bit more experience and who wish to take their studies further. In this term we will be learning veil technique to Bahlam Bi by Shahrzad. The 8 weeks course will cover a detail breakdown of the veil technique, classical and traditional belly dance steps and how to move gracefully across the floor. Please bring with you silk veil rectangular or semi circle. No chiffon or organza please. Due to Covid regulations only 10 students are allowed in the studio. Please note the course is non refundable and non transferable and this extends to failure to attend the course, partially attending and medical reasons. This is an 8 week Belly Dance course. Each class starts with a warm up which will be followed by learning lower and upper body moves and learning how to apply the move to the Middle Eastern rhythm. Students will be expected to practice these moves during their spear time and from time there will be a video recording made to encourage the student to understand the move structure. Bellydance articles and sample music will be also available for students to familiarise themselves before each class. During the course you will learn the following: Correct body posture and positioning. Correct lower body executions (hip drops, circles, figure 8, shimmies). Correct upper body executions (belly rolls, chest drops, shoulder shimmies). Arm positioning complementing the movement. Basic Egyptian steps to a chosen Middle Eastern rhythm. Theory of Middle Eastern dance and its variations. Transitions between each belly dance step. Advance shimmies and travelling shimmies.
