What happens in this class?

London Green are very excited to welcome Adam Hawker as a guest tutor at the workshop, all the way from Dorset, in London for one weekend only!

You will learn the techniques of kolrosing including how to lay out a pattern, execute neat cuts, oil and how to add colourant before burnishing.

The workshop will also cover chip carving, where you’ll learn various techniques and several simple patterns/designs.

If you have have any suitable knives please bring them with you. If you want to decorate any spoons bring them along, otherwise we will be practicing on prepared boards…

Things to remember

Please arrive by 8.30am to allow time for introductions so we can start promptly at 9.00. Please bring your own lunch and any tools you may like to use. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.

Loved this afternoon having a go at chip carving and kolrosing. We were lucky to have good weather and things were set up to be as socially distanced as possible. There were times when we had to choose between crowding and leaning in in order to see fine detail or staying apart but I can't think of a way to avoid that given the nature of the course. More time would have been good but it was really enjoyable and informative, thanks.
