Two session course
The School of Stuff is offering a two-day taster session in traditional upholstery.
Upholstery is a traditional craft which uses materials and techniques developed over centuries to produce elegant, comfortable seating that will last generations. You will learn about the tools, materials, and history of the craft and we will teach you some key techniques. Over the weekend you will learn how to upholster a drop-in seat for a dining chair (either your own or one we can provide). The School of Stuff is a studio dedicated to teaching furniture crafts in Dalston, East London. They run evening classes, weekend courses, and longer training courses for career changers. Core subjects are upholstery, furniture restoration and furniture making.
The core teaching team are working upholsterers, furniture makers and restorers, who are also all experienced teachers.
There should be something for everyone – as long as it's furniture-related.
