Ten session class
Chances are you wear clothes every day, so learning the craft of making your own is the perfect blend of creative and practical. If this is something you've been wanting to pursue for a while but haven't known where or how to start, then look no further than this professional garment sewing course held over multiple sessions at the Fashion Antidote in East London, ideal for blossoming beginners.
In this class
The course will firstly cover sewing machine basics (machine operation, correct needles and thread, basic stitches and seams, curves and corners, facing, zippers, buttons and frills). You learn how to make a skirt (laying patterns, using an overlocker, pockets, waistband, hems and finishing), and then a dress (fabric selection, princess line seams, tucks and gathers, invisible hems). By the end of the course, you'll know all the essentials for your future garment-making career.
Now you can
- operate a sewing machine like a pro
- create your own skirts and dresses with zips, buttons and pretty adornments
- kick-start your path to those high fashion runways
Keep / Bring
Most materials are provided, but you will need to bring fabric, lining and a zip for the dress. Instructions will be sent via email once you book.
