Absolute Beginners Silver Jewellery Making Workshop

I learnt a huge amount about the basics of metal work and various techniques to shape and decorate both copper and silver. Marcia was extremely patient and clear in her directions. And the addition of approaching the learning from the basis of mindfulness brought a wonderful depth to the learning experience. I felt I was learning with all my senses. The studio was set up and run safely with space and wonderful views across the rooftops and east london skyline.

What a brilliant workshop. Marcia is such an informative and helpful teacher, even complete beginners like myself managed to make a ring and pendant by the end of the day! I particularly enjoyed the mindfulness side of it - a very unique selling point for the course which made the day even more relaxing. Lovely studio, plenty of space and very clean. Marcia did really well to set up a Covid-friendly environment for us to work in (small groups, sanitiser, using your own tools for the day, respectful social distance/use of masks). Would highly recommend Marcia's course for anyone interested in working with silver, or just to have a change of scene/pace for the day. Besides the jewellery making, we had such a lovely time chatting about all sorts interesting things. Would love to go to another course in the future.

I really enjoyed this course. I had never made any jewellery before so it was exciting but I was nervous! Marcia explained things well and It was nice to make in a mindful way and put that energy into the pieces we made. I was so chuffed with the things I made - 2 rings and a pendant. I learned to saw, solder, imprint and hammer! My friend and I really enjoyed it. A great way to spend a day. Thank you!
