This seasonal workshop is for anyone wanting to make an attractive table decoration either for their home or as a gift, suitable for a coffee table or centre piece for a dining table. 

For this arrangement you will be using fresh foliage sourced from the wholesalers and will include eucalyptus, pine, cupressus, ivy and other foliage. Your teachers will provide natural and some artificial decorations such as dried fruit, pine cones, cinnamon sticks, candles and the odd Robin! 

There will be a short demo where your teacher will discuss the mechanics e.g. how to wire candles and decorations, and discussing how to maintain your arrangement.

Flowering Designs is a freelance Floristry company providing mostly Wedding and floral design services. 

Jo has eight years experience working as a florist. Her background is in Fashion Design having worked as an outerwear designer before retraining as a florist, colour and design are two things that are interlinked with these professions; her style is natural and simple. There are so many fabulous varieties of foliage and flowers that you get to work with as a florist, you appreciate the different flowers that come with each season, the different scents, and colours. 

The creative process of designing new arrangements for clients is constantly evolving. She love's working with clients to make bespoke arrangements for venues and designing hand tied bouquets for their special day. She's been working in retail for six years and has experience of working for two of London’s best Florists where she gained an invaluable insight into commercial floristry, event planning, installation and media related press shoots. She now hope to pass on some of her floristry knowledge running workshops where participants can come and learn new skills in a fun and relaxed setting.

Come and enjoy this 2.5 hour workshop getting creative and jewellery making. Craft your very own hammered sterling silver ring, whether as a gift for somebody or a treat for yourself. Hosted by expert jewellers.

They will guide you through the process of making a ring using traditional goldsmithing techniques such as annealing, forging, soldering, and filing to name but a few. In this workshop you will have the option of making either a wide hammered band or two fine hammered stacking rings (as pictured). Over the course of the class you will have plenty of opportunity to practice your newfound skills, as demonstrated by the jewellers throughout.

There’ll be plenty of opportunity for one-to-one interaction with the jewellers during your session.

We offer gold plating as an optional extra which can be requested and paid for at the end of the workshop. Choose from yellow gold, rose gold or black rhodium plating for your finished ring(s) - prices range from £20 - £40. Please note this service takes up to 3 weeks and you will need to leave your ring(s) with us, which can then be collected or posted out.

Make a Silver Ring Workshop with The Ringsmiths at Oxo Tower Wharf

This class is designed to provide you with the essential groundwork needed for wax carving all whilst enjoying a glass of bubbly in a relaxed, creative environment.
Carving wax gives you endless options to freely design whatever ring you want, as you are not limited to a silver wire or strip. This technique allows you to create something 3D, abstract, classic, chunky, geometric or organic, so you can let your imagination run wild!
The workshop begins with a short introduction to the lost wax process and its uses. Ros and Milena will inform you about basic tips and tricks on how to design a comfortable ring. Showing you various techniques and tools that can be used.
You will then start by designing/sketching out your ring, (samples and images will be available for inspiration) before beginning to carve your wax.
Once you’re happy with your finished carving we will show you how to complete the ring and prepare it for casting. After the class your wax carved ring will be cast, finished and polished by Ros and Milena using recycled silver. We will contact you once it’s ready for collection or we can post it out to you.
If you wish to have your ring gold plated or have your wax cast in solid gold than this will be at an additional cost and can be paid for and decided on the day.

Your finished silver ring will be ready for collection or posting within 2.5-3 weeks after the class.

Extra services such as engraving, gold plating and stone setting are offered at an additional cost. These can be requested at the end of the class. Please note these services have a lead time of 2-3 weeks on top of the casting/finishing time.

 Craft My Day Party - Thames Ditton

Learn how to make a simple ring  from sterling silver in this two and a half hour workshop.  Materials are included in the cost of workshop and no experience is necessary as you will be guided step by step through the whole process.  During the workshop you will learn the following:-

How to use a piercing saw.
How to anneal silver.
How to solder silver.
How to add texture.
How to finish and polish your final piece.

At the end of the workshop you will be able to take home a shiny new sterling silver ring.

Beginners Silver Ring Class

In this three hour class you will learn the basics of TIG welding on mild steel.

Starting out with an explanation on how this form of welding works, settings and parts on the machine, how to position yourself and hold the torch.
You will then have a go at striking the arc on a piece of steel, running a bead without filler rod before moving on to learning how to move and dab filler rod in to the weld puddle.

Dan will then talk you through the various types of weld joints, show you how to tack two pieces together and then run a full weld across the joint.

At this point there will be a break before you come back and have a go at welding an outside corner joint. This is in preparation for the metal dice that you will weld together yourself and take home with you to finish off however you like.

For a small surcharge you can have the dice powder coated in any colour you like. Or just leave it raw with the welding marks on it!

This workshop will be focused on the creation and personalisation of rings and pendants and led by Stööki's jewellery technologist Nadia Abbas.

In this workshop you will:

Get an insight in to the jewellery making process
Receive a wax ring or pendant template to customise with your own design
Get a tutorial covering a range of jewellery making techniques

The aim is to have a finished wax master at the end of the workshop that can be taken home, but there is also the option of turning your personalised wax ring or pendant into a finished jewellery piece.

Do you have a sewing machine that you have barely touched or are super new to sewing, and would love to have someone show you the ropes?   I can now offer this class virtually, though you are welcome to bring your machine into the in-person class.   We will explore the sewing machine through the differing components, dials and how to thread it up.  If you have questions about the different feet supplied with your machine they can be answered.

This hour lesson will cover the sewing machine, sewing straight lines (what to look for when sewing), taking it to a curved edge and even a few different seam styles.  Choose from 1 to 1 or group class. You will enjoy a pleasant environment with a patient tutor near Canning Town station.  All equipment is provided for your learning experience.  You will be learning techniques that align with your abilities, and take home all that you complete for reference. Learn to Sew

Learn how to create three beautiful silver rings to stack together  or wear separately in this three hour workshop.  All materials are included in the cost of the workshop and no experience is necessary as you will be guided step by step through the process.  During this class you will learn the following:

How to size and form your rings.
How to use a piercing saw.
How to solder your rings.
How to add texture and final surface finishes.

At the end of the workshop you will be able to take home a set of three lovely rings.

Kurinuki is the traditional Japanese pottery art, which implies hand-building and carving from a single block of clay.

Kurinuki pottery art differs in instinctivety, so get ready to forget about the “right” clay forming and let yourself craft asymmetric and imprecise articles. Focus on the pleasure received from the fascinating process of making ceramics, and create vessels that will reflect your personality and creativity.

This technique is meditative, relaxing and suitable for any level, so anything from complete beginners to seasoned pros are welcome.

Your tutor, Annette Lindenberg, will guide you through the process, explain the philosophy of tea ceremony wares and the history of Kurinuki. Annette is a Royal College of Art graduate and a professional ceramic artist with over 6 years of experience in Kurinuki.

In this 2.5 hr course you will be taught traditional Kurinuki techniques which can be applied into your own choice of tableware – yunomi (tea cup), bowl or even vase. During the class we will provide traditional naturally coloured clay.

CLASS OVERVIEW

Learn to copy your favourite garment to get continued enjoyment out of a garment that fits like a dream.   In this class you will learn how to copy a garment on paper.  If we have time, you may get part way into cutting in cloth.  Cloth is unavailable through me, so please do bring your own.  Ability to complete this depends on the quickness in completing each stage and how detailed the garment is.  If you wish to sew up the garment i do recommend 3+ hours.
You can purchase such bundle hours through the Learn to make a garment bundle class, which are available for 3 hours plus.

This class is for all genders and ages.   Choose from 1 to 1 or group class.

You will copy the garment on paper.  For the opportunity to make it in cloth book the 6 hour session.  Again if the garment is more complicated with layers, corset style or a jacket, coat etc; please book for 12+ hours.

Learn to pattern make a basic block to fit your measurements.   This 2.5 hour session  will focus on making a paper block to confirm the size.  Depending on time left we may be able to add a sleeve block or trousers, you will need an extra hour at least.

This class is for all genders and ages.  A fit block is made to your base body shape for the type of garment you wish to make from it.  Choose from 1 to 1 or group class.

The fit block paper pattern can be manipulated into a shirt, dress or even a jacket for the more advance learner.  If you would like further tuition on this let me know and we can arrange the details.  Be aware that the more advance the garment the longer it will take to complete with tuition.  Bundle classes are available for 3 hours plus, under Make A Garment Bundle.

Learn to Pattern Make

You will start by heating the wax, blending the essential oil, setting up the wick, and finish by pouring the wax into the mould and making your own Venus candle.

You will also learn about fragrance families and what top, heart, and base notes are, and the aromatherapy benefits of the New Romanic blend ( rose geranium, chamomile, and sandalwood)

All materials will be posted to you.  Materials include eco-soy wax, female torso candle mould ( worth £15 and can be reused many times), essential oil blend, and wick.

The Venus candle workshop is on video and lasts for 50 minutes.
