The 3 hour workshop will come with inspiring choice of scarfs, trims and trinkets to embellish a either you own jacket or one we can provide for a small fee. Do with this a group of fellow Sustainable style and upcyling lovers, in a all purpose workroom and learn from Upcyling clothing expert of over 40yrs. you will need a little experience and can bring you're own materials to add that special touch.

An introduction to using your machine to 'draw'. We will work with a 'normal' machine foot and a darning foot (free machining foot). This relaxing session is for beginners or those who want to free up their technique. You will work with a mix of fabrics (including soluble) and textures to create a flower bowl using your machine to draw the elements together. Learn simple stitches and textile techniques to make something unique to you. We may also combine some hand stitches to enhance your design. All materials and threads will be provided. There will be an opportunity to look at different fabrics and fibres you can use, with an emphasis on re-using and adapting scraps and other bits and bobs. Bring your machine (with manual and a darning foot if you have one) or use one of ours. Kirstie Allsopp called machine embroidery “the crack-cocaine of crafts”. This workshop will give you a taste of what she means – you might get hooked too (I am!). *You should already be able to thread and use a machine before the workshop. Her artwork will be around for you to use as inspiration and ideas. It will take place in the Stitch Club Studio in Central Pinner. This Aladdin’s cave is full of inspirational textile bits and bobs. It has been adapted to our new way of being with a lovely outdoor working space where you can relax and forget about the world outside. You will leave with new ideas and the confidence to create your next embroidery independently. What will be provided? We have all the tools and fabrics you should need. What should you bring ? Just yourself will do. If you have some ideas or an image or more that you find inspiring, bring them too. If there is a fabric or fibre that you want to work with or know more about bring that too. Come join us at Gallery Midnight for a creative Mother’s Day workshop! Book this as a lovely class to do with your Mum on Mother's Day, Or, if you are Mum - bring along your kids for a fun crafting session - all ages are welcome although we would suggest any young crafters be 8 yrs+. You will be decorating natural seagrass belly baskets with handmade pom-poms and embroidery. The baskets are a lovely keepsake to take home and can be used for storage (toys, socks, blankets) or plant holders! A wide range of coloured yarns are provided so you can create your own pom-pom colour palette! You can make up to 6 pom-poms to decorate your basket with. You will also learn how to embroider a letter, initials, short word or shape on to your basket to make it truly unique. The baskets are made from natural sea grass and measure approx H 28cm x W 31cm (not inc handles). They are handmade so measurements may vary ever so slightly. There will be a selection of teas, coffee and freshly baked cakes to help boost the creativity process!
