This Action Centered Leadership course aims to explain the John Adair model for “Action Centered Leadership” and explain how this relates to your personal management style. You will begin with an in depth look at the role of a leader, including the definition of a leader, attributes of a leader, and critically how these must be adapted for the team they are leading. You will then go on to look at taking a balanced approach to 'the Task', 'the Team' and 'the Individual', and explore each area in more depth. 'The Task' will cover aspects such as resources, action plans, and maintaining standards; 'the Team' covers skills of communication, motivation and coaching; and 'the Individual' covers individual development opportunities, using the differing strengths of individuals, and encouraging personal contribution. At the end of the day you will construct an action plan for how you are now going to use this new Action Centered Leadership Model. This course is suitable for managers and team leaders who have responsibility for managing a team.
