15 hour workshop
Learn the ancient art of stained glass in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and make your own sun catcher to display in your home or in garden. Whether you're a beginner who has never handled glass, or someone who has approached the craft before, you will be lead at every step. You can be sure that you'll leave with a stained glass décor you will be proud of!
The class is designed so that those who have never handled glass before can learn how to make their own design to take home with them. You will learn how to use each tool, as well as glass cutting, grinding, leading, foiling and soldering your piece together.
This 2-day introductory workshop is open to complete beginners and/or returners to the craft - a perfect entry-point into the fascinating and addictive world of stained-glass.
By the end of the second day, you will have created a beautiful Stained Glass sun-catcher to hang by a window. During the course, you will learn how to cut glass competently and safely, grind glass, copper foil, solder and finish your product ready to take home.

About your host, Tejal Kachalia
Tejal is a stained glass artist and is passionate about this art.
She decided few years ago to give up her' glamourous' city job to get her hands in to creative world and that's when she discovered this evergreen art that is well-sought after even today... She wanted to have something to challenge herself and fulfil her creative skills. She discovered a ‘Stained Glass Evening Class’ which she attended over a whole year, learning different forms of glass art. At this point, her days in office felt longer than the 3-hour evening class... and that too without fatigue! That's when she realised this is what she enjoys doing:)
Not only did Tejal enjoy her new-found challenge, but she met some interesting like minded artists from whom she got some great inspirations! Tejal is delighted to offer classes for anyone who is interested in learning this wonderful craft, or others who would like to ‘brush up’ on this addictive hobby, which could lead to many years ahead of unlimited enjoyment and fun, not to mention, profit :)
Hot drinks and biscuits are complementary from the local art café in the Harrow Arts Centre.
