As an absolute novice in clay sculpture, I was looking forward to an opportunity to play and experiment above all else - taking home a decent sculpture being only a bonus. I wasn't disappointed; it was an informal, friendly class, where I was given all the freedom I wanted to smoosh around the clay as I wished. Livia stepped in a few times to suggest ways to improve my work, and with the most simple swipes of her thumb, she demonstrated her extensive knowledge and talent as a sculptor. I recommend the class to those who are curious about clay sculpture, because I'm certain it will only increase your curiosity, and provide an excellent starting point for you! - Jess

Such a great evening at the Figurative Sculpture School. I’ve never sculpted before but am very interested in exploring my creative side a bit more, so signed up for this without really knowing what to expect. I’m so glad I did! We modelled a little bit of Michelangelo’s ‘David’ (I got the nose!)... the amount of thought and creativity that goes into sculpting a nose is very surprising! Livia is a wonderful tutor, she gives you just the right amount of information to get you going and helps you all the way through, but you really feel like you’re doing it all for yourself. I’d heartily recommend!
