What you will do
3 hour class
Work with artist Michelle Avison to explore trace monotype, drawing into an inked surface through paper to achieve a range of marks. Explore markmaking using different tools and how different papers make a difference to the print. Learn how to print from the reversed drawing that remains on the plate.
Monotype is a great way to develop ideas- it is a quick and immediate way of exploring colour, composition, line and mark making. Bring a sketchbook, drawings, photographs or a found image to work from and find out how to use the monotype process to develop your image making.
