What happens in this class?

The Ad Hoc Sessions are intimate classes where we will fully focus on whatever experience you wish to have with clay. Learn to use the wheel and master the basics of throwing, handbuild whatever shape you have in mind – I’ll assist you technically and teach you the ways of the clay.

At a later point, you’ll be able to choose to either come back and experiment with the wonder of glazing or simply have your pieces fired and glazed ready for collection 3 weeks from the date of making.

Things to remember

All materials are included. Firing costs £1 per 100gr of clay. Avoid wearing delicate clothing as there is always a possibility for the process to get a little messy.

Tea and snacks are served like the very merry unbirthday we all deserve!

Giulia Valori is a ceramic artist, technician, and teacher. She works at Studio U in Hackney Wick, part of Grow Studios. Her pieces are earthy and her work is mostly influenced by Japanese tradition and Ancient Roman shapes.
