Single session

I often find people are acious about watercolour as it is seen as such a tricky medium, but this class will open up the process to demonstrate how to work freely with watercolour, to experiment and rework areas you don’t like. This teacher finds watercolour such a fun and playful material to work with and hopes to share that with you. For beginners she will demonstrate basic watercolour techniques but the focus will be on pushing boundaries of what watercolours can do. Students are welcome to bring their own design or use ones provided in class, the session will focus on abstracting the image.

You will be working with brushes and other tools that the teacher has incorporated over the years as a practising artist. Techniques include masking areas with tape or templates, monochrome paintings, and building confidence to trust your instincts.

Your teacher will supply watercolour paper and gesso canvas pieces, and a variety of tools to use.

I took this class with Nadine and a small group of lovely people. Some of us were complete beginners and she made it really easy and fun. I made a whole set of water colour paints which will last for ages and I got to choose the colours. Nadine is a real expert and her knowledge of pigments is incredible. I especially enjoyed learning about ultramarine. This workshop would make a cool present or if you want to get into painting, a real source of inspiration, as her studio is superb and its really cool to see a real artist at work!

I have taken both of Nadine's class, I decided to do this after I made the water colour set to learn more and as she was such a good teacher. It was really informative and she is really supportive and didn't make me feel at all bad about my terrible paintings! In fact she helped me get better and I left with something to give my husband for his birthday that I was proud of. Really recommend doing this whatever your level its great!
