Four session course
This course aims to give you a systematic approach to a variety of mediums in a relaxed, supportive and inspiring environment. Each week you will be guided through learning new techniques and approaches, giving you the confidence to paint and be creative with your own practice. You will work from first-hand observation and build on a range of subject matter informed by consideration of other artist’s work.
WK 1: Apr 27th Taster Session (14.00-16.00) Title: An Illustrative Summer Painting with figures using watercolour.
WK 2 : May 04th Title: Exploring unusual objects, memory exercises combined with observational drawing
WK 3 : May 11th Making an accurate representation of a form and mono printing chin collet techniques.
WK 4 : May 18th Colour mixing, theory, a study linked to the work of an artist. Looking at line scale and colour with oil pastels
WK 5 : May 25th Developing a composition using the style and technique of an artist.

About your host, London Art School
Born in London, Sue studied Art at Harrow School of Art and DeMontfort University and was awarded a Royal Society Of Arts Travel Scholarship & Associate membership. She did props and set design and painting for major London theatres followed by textile design for the Scandinavian market at the legendary Bernat Klein Studios.
After six years as Head of Furnishing Textile Design at Liberty of London, Sue concentrated on her own art establishing the Hope Collection with her husband prior to entering into teaching art to adults and children. She was Head of Art and Head of History of Art at St. James Senior Girls School and is an OCR A-Level Moderator of Art and AQA - A Level History of Art Examiner.
All abilities are welcome and all materials will be provided. There will be a tea and biscuit break halfway through the lesson provided by us. There is a lovely bar and restaurant on the bottom floor and a reasonably priced car park!
All students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
