What you will do
This workshop is suitable for those with some grounding in observational drawing. Life drawing would suit people who have a good grounding in proportion, fore-shortening, three dimensional forms and drawing techniques. A nude life model will be employed so students must be over the age of 16.
We will work in charcoal, pencil and graphite and you will learn how to work from a life model to accurately depict a complex three-dimensional form.
Morning Day 1 You will be given an introduction to human anatomy and will make studies of a human skeleton. Afternoon Day 1 We will work in charcoal to establish accurate shape, proportion and incorporating an appreciation of how the muscles, soft tissue and skeletal frame influence and relate to each other. Morning Day 2 We will build on shape, proportion, the use of foreshortening and point relationships. Afternoon Day 2 We will develop mark-making, refine shape, and proportion and introduce tone.
You will receive one-to-one feedback and advice from the tutor throughout the workshop. We will move at the pace of the students so some degree of flexibility to this schedule may be applied).
We ensure quality. If your class doesn't reach your expectations, we'll give your money back.
