2.5 hour workshop
Join lettering artist Eleanor Herring for a fun and relaxed introduction to the art of watercolour brush lettering, at The Collective, Old Oak.
Whether you’re an avid stationary and typography fan, or simply want to try your hand at something new and creative, this workshop will take you through the basics of using a fine brush and watercolour paints in a range of colours.
In this brush lettering class Eleanor will start by introducing you to your tools which you can take away after class, including guide sheets, letter guides, paintbrush and the vibrant watercolour palette. You will also be provided with practise and watercolour paper for your final piece.
The class will then dive straight into practicing basic brush exercises making shapes and strokes to get you familiar with brush control, practicing making shapes, and contrasting stroke thickness. Moving on to lower and uppercase letter forms the class will then learn how to create paint effects with watercolour and how to develop your own unique style. This will be followed with a run through on combining and laying out words to form beautiful phrases for your final piece, with plenty of time to practice and one-to-one help..
By the end of the class you will have started to create joined-up words in your own style, with plenty of time to practice and one-to-one help.
Each ticket also includes a selection of delicious burgers and sides along with two drinks of beer, wine or soft drink alternatives.
